We screened the online premiere of East Coast Fever – the short film by Dave Lee featuring the musings of With-based poet Dean Wilson – during lockdown, and now we’re proud to launch what the world’s been waiting for; the Dean Wilson Film Club.
Taking place on the last Thursday of every month – starting 24 September – a brand new recording will premiere at 9pm on our Facebook and twitter pages, featuring Dean performing in his inimitable style.
He’s probably one of the only poets who can have you howling with laughter one minute and tears the next, and he’s become a twitter obsession for many with his ‘pebble of the day’, featuring the weird and wonderful things he finds when wandering Withernsea beach.
But it’s not just about watching poetry online – anyone wanting to take part can get their hands on a limited-edition Dean Wilson Film Club pack, including a (very coveted) badge, signed poem, and an all-important bingo card. Watch the films, cross them off, and the first six people to get a line win a prize of Dean’s choosing. We can’t tell you what they’ll be, but you’re guaranteed 100% treasure.
Pick your free pack up from Wrecking Ball Music and Books in Princes Quay and J.E Books in Hepworth’s Arcade from Monday 21 September (pm) onwards, or email email@example.com to get one popped in the post. There’s a limited run of 100, so first come first served*
