Christmas Card Parade Thanks

What a week! The Christmas Card Parade magic came to life across Southcoates, Greatfield, Orchard Park and North Hull and Derringham, and we couldn’t have had a more magical week Parading right on people’s doorsteps.

We’ve got some huge thanks to make to everyone who made the magic and sparkle happen:

  • Everyone in the Parade! That’s the beautiful KRM Horse Drawn Carriage Services, our Victorian family – Gina, David, Nanci and Tyler -, Classic Car Hire Yorkshire, Mally and his Hull Land Train, Top Tier Brass, East Yorkshire Buses, Acklams Coaches, Apus Productions and Everybody’s Cycling;
  • Our fab participants – St. Michael’s Youth Project, Ainthorpe Youth Centre, State of the Arts Academy, Greatfield Community Choir, Generation Hull and Garrowby Orchard;
  • The roaming performers spreading Christmas magic out and about – The Show Globe, Sacha’s Disco, Ivor and Bish Bash Bosh and Jason Coyle;
  • Our AMAZING Act to Ours Community Cast, putting a smile on everyone’s face;
  • Production support from Josh and the team at EPIC, Justine and team at Prestige Security and North East Medical;
  • Our team of freelancers supporting the event; Debbie, Emma, Ian, Kate, Natalie and Sean;
  • The wonderful Chat to Ours volunteers – Chris, Graham, Janet, John, Meg, Nicola and Sue -, and our brilliant BtO intern Morgan;
  • Venues in the heart of the neighbourhoods in each area – St Aidan’s Church, The Hut, St Stephens Neighbourhood Centre, The Waudby Centre, St. Michael’s Youth Project, Ada Holmes Circle, Priory Children’s Centre and Cafe two-o-one ;
  •  Jason Shipley photographing and Pinzel Productions videoing;
  • Chris Wood for the gorgeous Christmas Card image, Scribes Digital Print Ltd, John E Wright and the distribution team who hand-delivered cards and invites Right on your Doorstep;
  • Our Hub members who’ve worked alongside us on this event, shaping content for their areas and spreading the festive word;
  • Our Back to Ours funders: Arts Council England, Esmée Fairbairn Foundation and Hull City Council;
  • Everyone who came out in the streets, waving, laughing, banging on bedroom windows, dancing, sending us lovely messages and welcoming us down your streets and on your doorsteps.

We’ve had a magical week with you all, and remember: keep that card safe, like treasure – you never know when it might just decide to come to life again…
